Create and verify your account

Use one Mileage Sync account for the Windows app and website. Create your account, verify your email, then sign in. A verified account is required to download the installer.

Download and install the Windows app

Get Mileage Sync 1.4.7 from the official download page and run the installer on Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit. You do not need Python or a source checkout. This active beta is unsigned, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning. The download page provides the installer’s SHA-256 for verification.

Sign in and review sharing settings

Open Mileage Sync, sign in with the same account, and follow the setup wizard. Review Privacy & Data Controls and use Save Settings after making changes.

Dated community activity and observed ratings publish automatically for signed-in accounts under your public username; there is no separate period opt-in. Lifetime car-total sharing and expanded categories have separate checkboxes, which you can change during setup or later. Public summaries exclude raw Race Log rows, email, credentials, notes, and session IDs.

Choose a tracking source

For a setup without RaceLab, select the built-in odometer choice in the wizard or Modes menu. Keep iRacing telemetry enabled to supply distance and available car, track, session, lap, fuel, shift, and driving measurements.

If you choose RaceLab OCR, complete the OCR setup, including its external Tesseract dependency, select the odometer region, and test the reading. Tesseract is not bundled. Mileage Sync looks for the RaceLab odometer when the session loads and the car and track are identified. If OCR stays unavailable, valid telemetry can continue recording new distance.

Set your display and starting mileage

Choose miles or kilometers, US gallons or liters, a desktop theme, and your preferred odometer style. Check the starting value for the correct car. If it needs alignment, stop the worker and use Tools → Calibrate Car Odometer with a confirmed reading. This aligns the starting total without adding missing baseline miles to a new race.

Connect Google Sheets only if wanted

You can track and review sessions locally without Google Sheets. For an export, enter your spreadsheet’s Sheet ID and a Google service-account JSON file, share the sheet with that service account’s email address, then run Test / Repair Sheets. The JSON file is a service-account credential, not your Mileage Sync login; keep it private.

Start the worker and load a session

Start the worker, then load an iRacing session. Once the track loads, confirm a healthy worker, a connected simulator, the expected car, and a believable odometer value before driving. Keep the worker running while you drive. Use Restart Worker if the worker is unresponsive. Use Reset Stuck Session for a stuck session transition only after reviewing its warning about unsaved session data.

Finish and review your drive

Review Race Log after the session, using Finish Race / Sync Now when needed. Explore Performance, Reports, Car Totals, and Track Totals for available laps, stints, rain and wet-track activity, pedal and pit time, gear time, and Perfect Shifts. Resize or reorder columns and choose which ones to display; the app remembers your layout.

New measurements apply to newly recorded driving and are not reconstructed for older races. Missing measurements remain unavailable. Ratings use simulator observations, may update in a later session, and are not automatic official per-race iRating or Safety Rating results.

Check community publishing

With the worker running and your account connected, check Community and the website leaderboard for published summaries. If Privacy & Data Controls shows publishing as Off, use Reconnect publishing and review any connection message. Claim publishing on this PC when this is the computer you want to publish from. Confirm publishing is connected rather than assuming a click succeeded.
